Know More About Cold Sores Or Herpes Simplex 1

Cold Sores which is also medicaly referred to as, the Herpes Simplex 1 or HSV-1, is a member of the herpes virus family. The virus can be easily transmitted and is capable of spreading and infect any part of the body. Cold sores are caused by the Herpes Simplex Virus that spreads from person to person through touching normal skin that contains the virus, kissing, or by touching a herpetic lesion. Infected saliva is the most frequent cause of transferring the virus.

The herpes simplex 1 is known to cause watery blisters or mucous membranes that develop on the mouth, lips, or face. The infections tend to have a dry and crusty feeling and can sometimes even itch. Shortly before the infection can be seen sometimes a prodrome occurs. A prodrome shows similar symptoms to that of the actual virus before the actual sores become fully evident. The prodrome to the herpes infections is usually a burning or tingling sensation that is felt just a few hours or days prior to the appearance of blisters.

These sores can sometimes can reoccur at various times even after the blisters have disappeared. When a person is infected with herpes simplex 1, the virus enters the nerve cells and travel up to the nerves until it comes to a place known as the ganglion where it stays quiet sometimes and duplicate itself. When it duplicates itself, it then goes back down to the nerve of the skin and cause the sores and blisters to reappear.

A person who has contracted the Herpes Virus can transfer it to anyone even if the symptoms are not showing, but when the infected individual have active blister like sores then the infection becomes even more transimittable and when the sores are dried up and crusted over then the chances of passing it on decreases tremendously.

For someone who has the HSV-1 A sudden spur of cold, flu or fever can help to start a herpes attack and lead to blisters to rise up. Outbreaks can also be due to physical or emotion stress. Persons who are on the job for long hours and get limited amounts of rest can easily feel tense. And the lack of sleep then makes the body more uneasy and unrelaxed, which is liable to trigger an outbreak of blisters and sores. In some cases over exposure to the sun may also cause outbreaks, especially for infected persons who may have very sensitive skin. After coming up the herpes virus normally take about 2 6 weeks to go away without any traces of scarring.

There are also persons who experience bleeding gums, swollen glands while the painful sores affect around the mouth when the virus just sets in. the herpes virus can happen occur suddenly without showing any symptoms. A herpes attack can cause difficulty when eating food and can even cause the body to become dehydrated. Even though the herpes virus has the ability to disrupt the system, the bodys immune system still produces antibodies that fight off the virus and reduce the recurrences and makes it difficult for them to move out to other areas on the body

There are no current treatment for Herpes Simplex 1, however, the level of outbreak can be reduced.
