Kitchens The Centre Of Most Homes

Without it, we would starve, or at best be forced to survive on meals that have not been cooked or prepared. Without it we would not be able to entertain guests, or to find comfort or distraction. The one place that we all famously gravitate to at parties would be gone, and the place where many of us congregate with mugs of coffee before work would be no more.

Battered by heavy gales in winter, baked hot by boiling sun in summer or shrouded by the mist of a dewy autumn day, its physical layout rarely changes. But, like any personal space, it changes with the mood.

Stand-offs occur here we stand and fight with words. In quieter moments, a transient place of passing observation. When on domestic duties, a place to think.
However, compared with the neighbouring lounge, it doesnt really know me at all. Theres no place to sit, you see no place to idle away the time with just your thoughts for company - or with liquor for two and deep conversation.

Grey and green thats the colour scheme. A pantry; with goodies, wooden floor tiles; pleasantly hollow to walk on. Cats look at you from the walls, whilst our cat has dinner on the floor. Single words give directions - salt, pepper, sugar, tea, coffee, bread - a place for everything and everything in its place.

A softly murmuring radio fills the silence every silence. The soft glowing lamp lights every night. If the weathers fine theres a door to the garden if not, it stays locked. The kitchen is an unsurprising, simplistic place.

If you haven't already guessed, this magical place being described is the kitchen, and this shows you just how important the kitchen is to everything we do. It is not just a place to eat, but a place where we socialise, where we look for comfort, and where we genuinely can enjoy crafting great cooking. If you eat there in the morning with family, then it becomes a central place for your family. Thus losing the kitchen would mean that we lost a large part of our lives, and even our identities. This makes it crucial to keep the kitchen in the best possible condition for as much of the time as you possibly can and one of the best ways to do this is to ensure that your kitchen side boards stay top notch as these are perhaps the single most important part of any kitchen. Without the sideboards you would not be able to prepare food as you'd have nowhere to chop and nowhere to stand your items, and without the kitchen sideboard you wouldn't be able to decorate in the kitchen, nor store a large majority of your items. These are meanwhile the single largest surface area in the kitchen other than the walls, ceiling and roof they make up a large amount of the visual impact of your kitchen. You keep these nice, and you keep the kitchen nice.
