Kitchen And Bathroom Fires Are The Easiest To Have

By:

With all of the fires there are in homes, the most common places for them are in the kitchen and the bedrooms. Most of the fires that get started in the bedrooms could be from a smoker that falls asleep in bed. You might have some candles in your room that you forget to put out or you could place a candle too near the curtains or other flammable objects. Many times in cold weather people will use space heaters in a bedroom to provide a little extra warmth.

If you have to use old space heaters in your bedrooms watch over them close and shut them off before you go to sleep. Never trust any of these space heaters especially if they are over 5 years old. If it looks to be beat up or rusty do not use it just throw it out. These older heaters are the reasons for a lot of our house fires. If you have a person that has a history of falling to sleep with a cigarette in their hand you will need to make sure that they do not keep doing this. A lot of people try to use them in the bathroom as well and this could lead to electrocution.

So heaters and candles are two of the things that you really do not want in these rooms. But if you have no choice but to use them just take extra care to make sure that they are shut off and put out. Make sure that they are not in the walk way where they could become kicked over or knocked over and if they are found to be bad get rid of them. Always in the way of using candles make sure that they are completely put out and put up.

The other place that a fire could get started very easily is in the kitchen of your home. With all of the cooking you do in this room, we send large amounts of water and grease to walls all over your room. This build-up of grease could make a fire that could start from several different ways, burning until your whole room was ablaze. To help in keeping this type of fire from starting you should take soapy water and wash the walls down periodically. Set the stove burners on a lower heat setting when possible to prevent splattering of grease and other things from boiling over. Your should also keep your oven clean and free of spilled foods and grease because this part f the stove can start fires too.
