Kidney Stones Back Pain - What Is The Connection?

Kidney stones have the potential to be extremely painful. Those that have had a kidney stone, likely would not wish the pain on their worst enemy. In larger stones the pain is generally thought to also be caused by the rigid edges of the stone scraping against the walls as it makes its way through the urinary tract.

The uncomfortable kidney stones back pain you might be feeling could be due to the stone or stones moving and gradually making their way to the urinary tract. As your muscles contract to move the stone you are feeling the stone attempting to be removed from your body. The pain should come and go and not be constant. If your back pain is constant, you should consult your doctor to make sure it is not a symptom of something else.
