Being 'only human' we all hope for and most definitely need support for just about every task or project we ever undertake. Stopping a dangerous and deadly habit like smoking is no different - real support will always help a person kick the habit permanently, it's simply a matter of ensuring you get the right type of support!

For clarifications sake, let's just think about it a little - us humans are a social beast and as such very often need the enthusiastic and clear-cut support of others who understand and have likely even experienced the issues attached to the task that we're about to commit to.

In these modern times of course, there are stacks of support bases all over - there are support groups that aid persons to stop smoking by giving effective advice, guidance and encouragement.

One of the best - if not THE best - support bases is that which is often freely offered by ex-smokers or even smokers in the process of giving up. Teaming up with or at least repeatedly meeting with them and getting advice about how to get over cravings etc can certainly be a winner.

We mustn't of course, exclude our family and greatest friends - who, if they truly care about you, will probably be our chief line of defense and support for what we're trying to do. Ok, it can't always work out like that but still, you could just be surprised by the depth of support you in fact get from people who'd truly like to see you give up that rotten habit!

Just as long as you get positive support, then from where or from whom you get it isn't important, so long as it ensures you stay sincere to your path and will positively encourage you to stay appropriately motivated to seeing things through to their final conclusion - you happily not smoking anymore!

There may of course, be those of you who for some reason or another just can't easily get the support you need, well then there's always the internet. There's a vast amount of great help, advice and guidance that you can get through all types of support groups, directories or forums online.

As far and as much as you can, stay away from ignorant people who are unsupportive or just don't care what you're trying to pull off and the reasons for it. You need encouragement not annotations or actions that'll take you someplace they are - not caring about themselves or anyone close to them!

People of this ilk - whether they're friends or not - can never be a positive encouragement. You'll have enough cravings without some so-called "friend" offering you a cigarette each and every time you meet up with him or her.

Find and use any genuine, experience-based support you need or stay strong and support yourself with your own absolute will-power if you have enough of it!

In summary; having positive support from those that respect you and that you in turn respect is perfect and even though you're bound to find it a little tough at first, being able to kick the habit is much easier than you think YOU ONLY HAVE TO WANT TO!

Quitting smoking naturally, speedily, and permanently isn't and has never been about overly complicated systems and/or poisonous pills and patches - it's all about simplicity, a little bit of will-power and some genuine tried and tested tobacco-quitting knowledge.
