It is not a very big surprise that all three of these health issues are closely related to people who are overweight. Another interesting statistic also shows that people in North America are also the ones who suffer the most from obesity and are among the most unhealthy people in the world. Considering the technology and information we in North America have access to makes this study all the more concerning.

We all know that being overweight is unhealthy and can lead to serious illness and yet people are getting larger at an alarming rate. Being healthy takes commitment and the ability to make wise decisions. If you feel that you are overweight or at risk of being unhealthy there are steps you can take to protect yourself.

Concentrate on being healthy instead of being thin.

How many times have you or someone you know started a diet and then given up because they want a cheeseburger? One of the keys to being successful is to find what your motivation is and then revisit that motivation when things get difficult. One great clich is that you want to fit into your little black dress again. Great, so hang that dress where you will look at it every day. This will help to keep you motivated and on track throughout the day.
