It is hard to believe that, the internet we know is just 10 years old. E "" Commerce continues to grow and continues to set new marks every year. As comfortable as we and we might be using the internet, it is really only in its infancy. Google was just created in 1998 and oh how far we have come! As internet is growing day by day, so the future of
online marketing is a much discussed subject. No doubt, the future is bright. As more and more people join with digital revolution, e-commerce continues to grow. Particularly as younger generations moves into adulthood and they are becoming more sophisticated towards internet. As no one can help but acknowledge internet users.
Online marketing flattens the playing field for all sorts of players that is big or small. That"s why online marketing is fascinating everyone and we use it for variety of reasons. If we can figure out, it gives us the ability to spend our time to advertise our business and not our money. It gives us access to a much broader market and allows us to kick the crap out of big companies that throw money at internet marketing. The key factors of online marketing are pay per click advertising and search engine optimization (SEO).
Search engine optimization will be around as long as people use search engines services. Regardless of how much money a dominant company in an industry throws at search engine rankings. They will never have an inherent advantage over it. They best they can do is buy advertisements, which most people do not click. Therefore, they"ve no leverage because nobody is to buy off. If the company gets the top ranking on Google, Yahoo and MNS for their keywords, no one can knock them off unless they perform better optimization than you. They can simply make a huge traffic on their websites which is too glorious to ignore. It is very difficult to commit fraud in search engine optimization and any future legal issue threatening it.
And the second factor is pay per click (PPC) which is an integral part of online marketing. We use PPC search engines to obtain immediate traffic to a site and test the conversions ratios of our sites. However, the fact is we can test the content of our site to see if it converts. If we find the conversion rate of visitors to sale is too low, we can tweak the site and try again till we find a good approach. The view on pay per click is twofold. Firstly if we are paying for the traffic we must monitor our return on investment (ROI). Secondly if we run the risk of people clicking on our links with no intention of buying, then this is known as click fraud. Click fraud occurs when a PPC ad is artificially created. This is the primary problem in PPC and has less clear future. The only intention of the clicker is to cost the advertiser money. Estimation shows that the percentage of fraudulent clicks is as high as forty percent.
Theoretically, it means we could take 40 percent of our advertising budget which is useless and get the same result which is pretty scary, eh?
