Keeping Your Hands Looking Young And Healthy

By:

There is practically nothing that dates us more harshly than the skin on our hands. It is delicate, prone to rapid aging, and subjected to abuse from the time we are born. How is it, then, that some people have hands that seem to defy the rules, and that seem to take decades off of their perceived age? The simple answer is that those people realize that they can protect their hands from damage and even erase damage that has already been done.
So, how do they do it? In most cases, people with extraordinarily young and healthy looking hands actively work to keep them that way. What does that mean? It means that they protect their hands from harsh chemicals, they keep their hands hydrated with quality moisturizer, and they do these things religiously. Of course, this does not mean that you cant have beautiful hands if youve let your hand care regimen slid it just means that you may have to work a little harder to achieve your desired results.
If your hands are dry and not particularly healthy looking, one of the best first steps you can take toward their recovery is to get a paraffin wax treatment. You can either go to a spa, a nail salon, or invest in a home paraffin wax treatment kit. Following the paraffin dip, you need to moisturize like you have never moisturized before. In fact, rather than your standard hand lotion, you may want to try a petroleum based product. Of course, these products tend to be greasier than normal hand lotions or creams, but they also work much better at creating a barrier that keeps moisture and natural oils in while protecting your hands from external factors that can cause dryness and irritation.
After you have achieved the desired moisturizing effect (dont be frustrated if you require multiple treatments, if your hands are exceptionally dry or damaged, it may take a little more effort), maintain your hands condition by protecting them and keeping them moisturized. Remember, this is the only skin youre ever going to have. Take care of it.
