The first things that people look at when going inside a meat shop is its surroundings and how clean everything is. We all gravitate to anything that is clean such as place that is clean, food that is healthy, and breathing fresh air.

The presentation of the meat must be very attractive and the owner must adhere to strict standards of quality and freshness to ensure the safety of the consumers. Sanitation must be maintained in all aspects of the shop, from the production process to the market and from whatever comes in contact with the meat and the entire shop. It is important that you also take care of the personnel handling the meat and not just the sanitation of the shop.

The cleanliness should be checked every day and it is mandatory to have an inspection of the production area and the selling area. It is important to always check anything that comes in contact with the meat or anything surrounding it such as walls, ceilings, floors, clothing, personnel, equipments, coolers, drains, and it especially important that the water used must not be contaminated.

Every personnel employed in the selling and production areas must practice proper hygiene. The hair should be covered with a cap or a net to prevent hair from falling into the products. They must always wear their proper uniform and it must always be kept clean. The proper uniform must include an apron, cap, closed shoes, and gloves. Workers should never handle the meat directly with their bare hands and must always wear gloves or use tongs. Aside from that, workers should be impeccably clean in everything, from their hair to the nails. It is a rule that you must never hire someone who has not completed all the requirements.

Before opening a meat shop, a license from the health and business department to operate or produce meat must be acquired. There are many requirements that must be passed before these licenses can be obtained. The consumers must be able to properly examine the products so proper lighting must be considered.

Products must be properly labelled and must include everything accurately from the ingredients to the manufacturer. The label should include instructions for proper handling, storage, and cooking. Following all of these procedures will ensure the safety of all the consumers and also to make customers keep coming back t you.
