Early Life

Katrina Kaif the diva of Bollywood was born in Hong Kong on July 16, 1984. Her father was formerly from Kashmir in India, but now has acquired British citizenship and her mother is a Caucasian of British Nationality. She has seven siblings - six sisters and one brother. Katrina grew up in Hawaii, but was brought up in London, UK.

Katrina started her career at the tender age of 14 years with a jewelery campaign. After that she continued modeling in London. She continued modeling in London under a contract with Model 1 Agency. She also did campaigns with houses like La Senza and Arcadius. Kat has also walked the ramp for London Fashion Week. Once she entered in the modeling industry there was no looking back for this beauty.

Katrina's London successful modeling work led her to be discovered by London based film maker Kaizad Gustad. He also offered her the role in BOOM (2003)

She was flooded with modeling assignments the moment she came on the Indian soil. This could be done especially because of her innocent expressive face, hour-glass figure, and stunning looks.

For her moving to different culture and country was not much of a culture shock, as she always believed that no matter where you come from, the bottom line is that everyone wants to be loved, respected, and cared.

Professionally she started off as a model with photographer Atul Kasbekar, and upon being accepted, she received offers from LG electronics, Coca - Cola, Fevicol, Lakme, & Veet. The turning point of her life was through the Lakme commercial which got her noticed as the next big star.

Career

2003

Katrina is fondly known as Kat in the film industry. She started her career in movies with BOOM (2003). Although BOOM was criticized by the critics and rejected by the audiences, two other Telugu movies MALLISWARI and PIDUGU did get her noticed. She grossed 70 lakh rupees for 'Malliswari' which brought her to the top list of the highest paid actresses during a South Indian movie debut.

2005

After BOOM did not do well on the box office Katrina had a hard time getting work in the industry but as always said times changes the same happened for her with the movie SARKAR (2005). In SARKAR she played the bit part of Abhishek Bachachan's girlfriend following with MAINE PYAAR KYUN KIYA (2005) where she was paired opposite Salman Khan.

2006 and 2007

HUMKO DEEWANA KAR GAYE (2006) was her next movie opposite Akshay Kumar which did not make much profit on the box office. Katrina came back with a bang with her much stylish and glamour's movie NAMASTEY LONDON (2007) again opposite Akshay Kumar. But this time the movie was a super hit the first major hit for the beautiful actress where she plays a British Indian girl and Akshay Kumar is the Indian Punjabi Munda. This movie gave her a lot of appreciation and applause.

2008

In 2008 Kat did three movies in a row. The first movie was Abbas-Mustan's hit action thriller RACE where she has played a villain for the first time with co - starts Saif Ali Khan, Bipasha Basu, Akshay Khanna. This movie added one more star in her acting career. Her second release of the year was Anees Bazmee's production SINGH IS KINNG, opposite Akshay Kumar, which was again a big success at the box office. Kat's final release of the year was Subhash Ghai's YUVRAAJ opposite Salman Khan which was a commercial failure.

2009

Katrina was riding her way of success and appreciation. The year 2009 was one more such period for her with first release of the year NEW YORK opposite John Abrahim. This movie experienced critical as well as commercial success. Katrina's performance was highly regarded. Critics also mentioned her to be a big surprise. They believed that she can deliver if the director and writer offer her a role of substance.
The next release for her was BLUE (2009) where she played a bit role as a biker chick. The movie was a multi-starrer action film which performed decently at the box office. At the year's end, she just bangs the box office with the movie AJAB PRAM KI GHAZAB KAHANI with Ranbir Kapoor, and DE DANA DAN with Akshay Kumar. Both films were commercial success.

2010

Kat's first film of 2010 was RAAJNEETI, where she appeared opposite Ranbir Kapoor. The film did extremely well at the box office, receiving a blockbuster status.

Upcoming Films

Katrina's upcoming movies are -
Farah Khan's TEES MAAR KHAN with Akshay Kumar. The film is set to release on 24 December 2010.
In the same year she has JEWEL IN INDIA with Amitabh Bachchan and Al Pacino.
Following will be Italian Job Remake with Neil Nitin Mukesh and Abhishek Bachchan.
And then is 7 DAYS IN PARIS with Imran Khan.

In the year 2011 is ZINDAGI NA MILEGI DOBARA with Hrithik Roshan and also DOSTANA 2 with Riteish Deshmukh and Shreyas Talpade. These movies are slated to release in 2011.

Personal Life

Despite of her soft gorgeous looks, she is not easily panicky. She confesses that she is very emotional, a die hard romantic, hates to do her hair, and above all dislikes make-up. Admitting to being lonely in the beginning, but now has several nice friends in the industry as well as out side who she can hang out with.

Katrina had the most talked about relationship of tinsel town and the man was none other than the handsome Salman Khan. Both the celebrities never accepted it publicly but the media and publications broke the news. Media followed Kat and wrote news items like Kat's time spent with Salman's family or Salman helping Kat to learn Hindi.

Finally after a time spam Katrina and Salman announced their soon to happen engagement. But things in this industry are never stable. Recently media broke out the news of Kat and Sallu part ways.

Katrina believes that every one has their own love life. Every one has a dream to get a perfect life partner. But this is not so easy in real life. In fact, one doesn't love, it just happens. You never know what may happen in future.
