There are several companies out there that allow for this dream to happen. Scentsy Authentic Wickless Candles is one of those companies. Scentsy was founded in 2003 by two stay at home moms that 'had a dream'. Colette Gunnell and Kara Egan had a dream of owning their own candle company. The two stay at home moms wanted a product that was safe to fragrance their homes, without having to worry about fire hazards as both had very young children at home.

The wickless concept was born when Colette and Kara began selling decortive candle warmers designed to melt scented wax with the heat of a light bulb instead of the traditional wick candles. Entrepreneur Orville Thompson encountered this small company at a home show early 2004. Orville very intrigued by the simple concept, took product home to his wife Heidi in Meridian, Idaho where the decision was made they would approach the two mothers with the purchase of their small company~ and Scentsy made its new home in Meridian, Idaho.

Scentsy joined the Direct Selling Association in 2004, and also enrolled their first Independent Consultant. Since, the company has expanded it's operations, hiring a strong executive team, and has received numerous awards for its growth and ethical business practices~ including the 2010 Inc 500 list of rapidly growing privately held companies, the 2010 Direct Selling News Global 100 list of top direct selling companies, the DSA's 2010 Success Award, and the DSA's 2009 Rising Star Award.

Today, the passionate family of approx 135000 Independent Consultants share in the Scentsy experience, and the Scentsy difference throughout the United States, Puerto Rico, Guam and Canada. And in the near future, International Independent Consultants will join forces, and live the same dreams others have had experiencing as they continue to share their passion and love of the simple Scentsy Wickless Candle concept.

Two young mothers, Colette Gunnell and Kara Egan~ had the dream of creating a product that would scent their homes without the fire hazards and health worries of the traditional wick candle. Their dream came true 6 years later, through the passion and love that Independent Consultants share in~ Scentsy Authentic Wickless Candles.
