Jock Itch - Eliminate Jock Itch

By:

Common jock itch symptoms are sore red rashes over the groin area and an itchy burning sensation. Sometimes people misdiagnose these flakey, reddish brown patches to be ringworm due to the often circular pattern of them. The fungus responsible is dematophytes, jock itch is taken from the latin tinea cruris. A yeast infection caused by candida albicans is another type of yeast infection.

There are many treatments that you can use but handy ones are the ones that you can take out of the cupboard, right? So take a look in the refridgerator and see if you have any natural yoghurt. Natural yoghurt contains the bacteria that fight against candida albicans and keep them under control. So applying some natural yogurt to your jock-itch could do it some good. If you do have the fungal version of jock itch it will just be soothing to the skin and not do anything to remedy the fungus.

So, are there any treatments that help with both types of jock itch? Yes, there are, you will be happy to know. One of these is tea tree oil. Do not put tea tree oil directly onto your skin, as this in itself can burn. Take some oil such as baby oil, and put about ten drops into a tablespoonful of baby oil. Then dab onto your groin with a tissue or cotton wool ball. This will reduce the itching, and the tea tree oil will work on the fungus or bacteria.

You may be looking at the screen thinking but I don't have any tea tree oil in the cupboard! Well go and ask your sister or mum or auntie, because it is a very popular oil for the treatment of spots and I expect someone you know will have some. Another popular oil is lavender oil. Lavender oil is great because it can be applied directly onto the skin, it is very popular and doesn't cost the earth. It does smell really good too. Anyway, it is great for skin conditions, it will remove the itch instantly, and if you keep using it you will get rid of your jock itch, providing you take other precautions.

Just because you are treating your jock itch doesn't mean you can slack off on doing some great preventative measures. Never share a towel - the bacteria can live on towels and clothes. Always keep your groin clean and dry. Try using an anti fungal powder every day to keep the area dry, because the bacteria love a damp moist place to reproduce on.

Keep all this in mind and I hope you get rid of your jock itch very soon!
