Jaguar And Bmw Dealerships Battle For High End Consumers

Jaguar And Bmw Dealerships Battle For High End Consumers

Picture this scene. You're a self confessed white Van man who has just want a fortune on the Euromillions. That's what happened to one Brit this month, but the question is, what car should he drive? When quizzed on the matter BMW dealerships must have been licking their lips. That it seemed was the car of his dreams and why not? For years this has been the car every top executive has had, but now there's a serious rival on the horizon.

The new Jaguar XJ has had motoring journalists going weak at the knees with anticipation for months now. And once they did get behind the wheel they weren't disappointed. It is, they say, a true thing of beauty and represents the height of driving pleasure. That's something to live up to, but BMW dealerships will not be disheartened just yet.

They have plenty to boast about themselves - a new series 5, upgrades to series 7 and new coupes and convertibles for the series 3 line. Most of all they seem to be taking the line that they are very much the car for the modern age - a model that can combine true luxury with the efficiency that will keep polar bears alive for longer. The secret comes in their EfficientDynamics system. It seems to be impossible to visit any new Bimmer at the moment without these words coming into the conversation. Put simply, the BMW dealerships believe they have found the golden goose: a car that is kind to the environment and has great performance at the same time. If that's true then it might - just might - be the most important luxury car of the generation.

However are such sentiments likely to appeal to our lottery winner? Remember he can now buy almost anything he wants. For example, if he wants to go to the second hand market, then I did find one little gem on Autotrader - a Bighatti Veyron for a cool million. Alternatively he might try one of the other supercars. Lexus has recently entered this market and its new LHA will be at the Geneva motorshow.

To be thinking in such a way seems to be foolish, but at all the major manufacturers, Audi, Jaguar, Lexus and BMW, dealerships are bracing themselves for the return of the big spenders. Companies are falling over themselves to produce new luxury cars that are fit for a lottery winner.
