Jacqueline Fernandez - Bollywood Actress

Jacqueline Fernandez is a Bollywood Actress. Jacqueline is originally from Sri Lanka and is a former Miss Sri Lanka Universe. Jacqueline was born on June 2, 1985, in Sri Lanka.

Her parents are Elroy and Kim Fernandez. Her mother, Kim is a Malaysian. She has an elder sister Geraldine, and two brothers Warren and Ryan. Sri Lanka was engulfed in ethnic conflict when Jacqueline was a child and her family moved to Bahrain due to the civil war.

Jacqueline did her schooling from the Sacred Heart School of Bahrain. She later went to Sydney, Australia to pursue a degree in media and was awarded a full scholarship by the University of Sydney.

In 2006, Jacqueline Fernandez was crowned Miss Sri Lanka, and she represented Sri Lanka at the Miss Universe Pageant. After her win, Jacqueline hosted a television show called Lanka Business Report. She also wrote a weekly column for a Sri Lankan newspaper Daily Mirror.

She also started a non profit organization that looks after the empowerment of underprivileged children and women.
Jacqueline Fernandez made her debut in Bollywood with ALADIN (2009), directed by Sujoy Ghosh. She was paired opposite Riteish Deshmukh. The film also starred Amitabh Bachchan.

The film was based on the tale Aladdin from the Arabian Nights. Jacqueline played the role of Jasmine, a college girl who has returned from the US and Riteish was seen as Aladin, an orphan. The film was a failure at the Box Office.

Jacqueline second Bollywood film was JAANE KAHAN SE AAYI HAI! (2010).The film was directed by Milap Zaveri. It also starred Riteish Deshmukh, Ruslaan Mumtaz, Sonal Sehgal, Vishal Malhotra, Satish Shah and Supriya Pilgaonkar.

Jacqueline Fernandez played the role of Tara, an alien who comes to earth in search of true love. Riteish Deshmukh played the role of Rajesh Parekh, a loser, who is also in search of love. The film did not succeed at the Box Office.

In 2010, Jacqueline Fernandez was seen in the song Aapka Kya Hoga, from the film HOUSEFULL (2010). The film was directed by Sajid Khan and starred Akshay kumar, Riteish Deshmukh, Arjun Rampal, Deepika Paduone,Lara Dutta and Jiah Khan. The film was a Box Office success. Jacqueline song Aapka Kya Hoga was a chartbuster.

Jacqueline Fernandez will be seen in Milap Zaveri next film. She is currently shooting for the Tamil film, MANKATHA, where she will be seen in a special appearance. Jacqueline Fernandez is the cousin of Frederica Jansz, who is the editor of Sri Lankan newspaper The Sunday Leader.
