Fear is a great motivator. So, after the surgery I said enough is enough. I quit smoking on April 1 1980. It helped tremendously. Next I did research to find ways to clear my blood vessels of what ever was clogging them up. I ran across articles about a procedure called
chelation therapy. This therapy was approved by the FDA for lead removal but not for peripheral vascular disease. The procedure was very controversial and I could find no local doctor who would talk about it. However, I knew someone was doing it somewhere so I started my search for a doctor who did chelation therapy.
After the recovery period and for many years thereafter I held off the disease with diet changes and increased walking exercise. They both helped a lot but it was the no smoking which really improved my condition. I had a few problems but was able to cure them by natural means. Honey is great for wound healing.
In 1992 I was traveling and working in Florida. The work was hard on feet and an old wound reopened on my foot. My research paid off. I had found a group which listed health professionals who did chelation therapy and I had the list with me. I was fortunate because I found a doctor within 60 miles. I started IV chelation therapy at once. I did 3 IV treatments a week for a total of ten treatments. Halfway through the therapy the wound had healed which was an extremely quick response given my past history.
My wife and I decided to work and travel at the same time. The only problem it was work that was hard on my feet. In 1992 in Florida I opened an old wound in my foot but all the research had paid off. I had a list with me that told me of all the health professionals who did chelation therapy. I was lucky and found one not far away. I started chelation therapy the next day by doing 3 IV chelation treatments per week for a total of 10. Half way through my wound was healed and my faith in alternative medicine proven.
Since I had such good success I did a total of 60 IV chelation treatments in six different doctors offices while I traveled. I did this over a span of six years. My peripheral vascular disease was a thing of the past. Then in 2004 I thought I could feel some very minor symptoms returning. With my experience I knew it was coming back if only slightly. But I had learned now to take action immediately so my further research showed there were now many oral chelators on the market that were not available when I started chelation therapy.
The ten treatments worked extremely well because afterwards I could walk over a mile and my feet and legs were much better too. I felt so much better I thought ten more might even do greater things. Glad I did, for after 10 more treatments over three weeks I could walk 5 miles without any pain and even run a little. Walking and standing on concrete for long periods was no longer a problem.
Again research paid off. I found three
oral chelation, products and each one over the period of 2 months each. Not until the fourth one did I find the least expensive and the one that worked the best for me. It was straight EDTA powder which is the same EDTA used in the IV procedures. The most important feature here is that I am symptom free over 70 and I can run walk and work as much as I want. I get to actively play with my grand kids and hike with my 40 year old kids too. I can say without a doubt chelation therapy worked for me and it can work for you.
