Its Getting Hot In Lanzarote

By:

Holiday makers have been jetting off for winter and early spring holidays to the island for several years now. A recent survey by the Spanish Meteorological Agency reveals that the Canary Islands enjoyed much higher than average temperatures for the time of year between December and February. If you visit the island fairly often it will most probably not surprise you since you should be familiar with the superb climate here.

The coastal areas of each island registered 19.4º C on average, a rise of 1ºC when compared with previous years. This superb spell of weather just helps to confirm the island´s popularity as a winter sun destination.

Not that this is news to many of the island´s tourist visitors during the last few years, because it has long been a winter sun favourite. But Lanzarote also has good credentials as a holiday location with a huge choice of accommodation available.

Increasingly, visitors are unquestionably moving away from standard getaways and planning instead for a stay in one of the many holiday villas in Lanzarote instead of picking a package tour or hotel. As this provides a much more individual and comfortable type of stay, with many of the conveniences guests are used to at home. The island has a well developed tourist infrastructure already in place, with the oldest resort of Puerto del Carmen undergoing numerous improvements to keep its competitive edge. And Puerto del Carmen villas on the whole are based in the most exclusive areas of the town.

It also means that those staying in one of the villas tend to get the best impression overall of the resort. Elsewhere, the most southerly town of Playa Blanca is also home to an impressive collection of Playa Blanca villas available with a greater range of prices and size of accommodation.

One thing both these resorts do share is that they have their own micro climates meaning that temperatures are appreciably higher here during the daytime than in more northerly parts of the island. Equally The beaches in both towns are also considered amongst the best the island has.

However, many of those staying in villas in Lanzarote have their own swimming pools so some villa guests often stay put preferring to while away their time at their home away from home. Alternatively, those who prefer to get out and explore will find there is plenty to see on Lanzarote.

For a small island, it has a high number of attractions and sites of interest, which offer a good range of things to do, from cultural activities to sports. Many of these provide a unique insight into the lives of Canarians both historically and during the present. So even if the weather is not the main incentive to visit Lanzarote, there is still a wealth of things to see and do.
