It's Time To Get Into Shape For Spring

By:

Most of you must have been over with your festival holidays and as usual you must have surely grown plump, binging on all those goodies during the Christmas Holidays. Maybe you gained a couple of pounds from all those delicious goodies and fattening meals you have been eating or maybe you gained a lot. In any case, we would not like to keep that excessive fat on our body. We need to get our body to start burning that excessive fat and not starving ourselves doing it.

This really sounds unbelievable Is a person really able to loose weight without starving himself?

Yes, its very much possible! You may not see or feel an immediate reduction in your weight, but a slight change in your lifestyle could help you to burn more fat. My choice of eatables on the dining table leave me quite satiated.

My husband gave me a suggestion that I just try cutting out bread and potatoes. My first reaction was: no mashed potatoes, no deluxe baked potatoes, no fries? How can I live without those? Without bread, how will I sop up my sauces and gravy off my plate? I decided that I should try it at least once even though I felt as if i was depriving myself. Initially I had a very bad attitude. Watching my husband scoop those mashed potatoes out of the bowl and onto his plate. Then grabbing up the loaf of bread and slapping butter on a couple of slices. It would have been nice if he would follow the same life style change I was. He's over weight too, but maybe he wanted to experiment the new diet chart on me first.

Instead of eating mashed potatoes, I piled cottage cheese on my plate. Some diets tell you not to eat cottage cheese, but I had to eat something. Then I would eat the meat product. I I do not like eating meat so that was a problem. Vegetables I love and can eat lots of them. We started having two types of vegetables with our meals. They did have cheese on them which makes them a bit more fattening but it didn't matter much to me. I finished off my meal with applesauce as a dessert. So I still had 4 to 5 different things on my plate. All this surely made me feel full I when I finished eating.

When I initially started my weight loss campaign, I stopped making pasta for some time. Our chili spaghetti was replaced by just a bowl of chili with cheese on it. No macaroni and cheese at first was served. So my husband too was getting less carbohydrates to eat. I simply wasn't cooking them.

You should not think that I never eat any of the stuff I cut out of my meals. On the weekends, we eat out, I eat whatever I want. I consider weekends to be a sort of time off from the strict regimen of dieting, I follow throughout the week. In this manner if I really crave for something during the week, I know I can eat it on the weekend. That helps me get through the week a lot of times. Then come the weekend, I sometimes don't even don't even think about it.

Did I manage to loose weight? Yes I did. At first I lost a pound per day. I was amazed. Seeing my weight drop so dramatically really motivated me to keep going. I was burning fat without really trying all that hard.

It did slow down after I lost the first 10 pounds. Things didn't appear to work as fast, but the weight was still slowly coming off. By adding some brisk walking to my daily routine, could have helped to burn off the excessive fat a lot easier. I may do that this time. I'll let you all know if it's helpful in any manner.

To burn fat and loose the weight, you need to find the best method for yourself. The write up I have written is just an idea to shake you out of slumber, but there may be many other ways too.

I need to get back on mine. I am giving myself to the end of the holidays and then it starts. The good thing is, I don't really drudge the idea of going on dieting. I love the idea I can get back to watching the foods I eat, my jeans will be looser, the scale is going to be my friend again and I am going to feel good about myself.

Oh, my husband has changed some of the things he does. As he saw I was loosing weight, he didn't give up his mashed potatoes, but he did give up his butter bread. It's a start.
