It's Time To Clean Your Pc- Yes It Is!

By:

I was worried when my PC began to slow down, and I thought this was it, another attack by some unknown foreign species! But then I did not lose heart as I would have normally, I checked the net and found some really good sites that told me that it's time that I freshen up my PC. So here are some of the expert tips that I gathered and things that I learnt through trial and error that can help in cleaning and speeding up your PC.

* Install a proper anti-virus software agent and run an out and out check up.

* If you survived that, then organize My Documents, make sure you have the files folded into folders. If you can, place the My Documents Folder in another drive. There are softwares that ease desktop access and use.

* After this, be kind and clean up that desktop! Take away all those files and out them where they should be! And try to put only shortcuts, that way you save space for the C Drive. If you remove the desktop picture it can speed up things too.

* Get those momentary indulges (read downloads through reference that you never used) out of the system. Yes, uninstall all the programs that you are not using. Be ruthless.

* Make sure that you clean up your start up, cookies and registry. There are many tools for this.

* Look for Duplicate files and kill them, arrange all the files into folders in the other drives and place them in appropriate folders.

* Clean up your hardware, use brushes and small time vacuum cleaners and get the baby shining and glowing.

* Make sure that you dont let too many things start with you when you start up. When the booting speed is goes, it makes you feel really good.

* Delete the temporary files, and clear history for your browsers, it helps.

* Defragment and run disk checks for errors.

* If you want the baby to run fast, disable indexing service and also performance counters.

* Disabling the system sounds will also make the system faster.

These were some of the ideas; tell me if you know more!
