It's Ok To Have Doubts

Everyone has an element of the "Doubting Thomas" within their personality. For some people this doubting and fearful part of their character has a high profile and filters everything through these potentially negative lenses. Others suppress this part of their focus and virtually turn a blind eye to any doubtful feelings.

As is true of most aspects of character and behavior, moderation is actually the most desirable state of affairs. Doubts are emotional warning signs in the same way that pain is a warning signal to your brain; both intend to alert you to possible threat or danger. It's all a part of the human instinct for survival. To suppress doubts altogether is just as unhealthy as an attempt to eliminate pain without first identifying its cause.

Doubts are actually very helpful as they point you in the right direction. They are signposts which tell you what you need to question and prevent you from unnecessarily walking up blind alleys or falling head first into traps. Doubts are great, so long as they do not get in the way of progress, joy and happiness.

If your doubts are so great or so frequently experienced that they stop you from moving forwards then they are indeed inhibiting you and stopping you from achieving fulfillment. Your "doubt thermostat" is set at too high a point; it needs to be reset so as to allow you to achieve a state of balance and well-being.

It is important to take a step back from your emotions and apply logic to the circumstances which are giving rise to your excessive feelings of doubt. As you step back from your emotions you will be able to see more clearly and untwine the various threads of thought and experience which have combined to create your "doubt-ball". What you need to do can be likened to untying knots in a length of rope.

Hypnosis is a wonderful state to employ so as to make this task a lot easier. Hypnosis relaxes the mind and helps you take that necessary step back from your emotions. It helps you to look within and to gain insight into the cumulative cycle of cause and effect which multiple experiences throughout life inevitably create. You can identify the knots which need to be untied, straighten out your "rope" of emotional connections and moderate your over excited doubting thermostat.
