Halloween is a holiday for kids of all ages. Most people don't celebrate the dark meaning of the holiday, they simply enjoy dressing up and hanging out with friends. My brother once dressed up as Mike Meyers from the Halloween movies and hid in the bushes, scaring the wits out of each person who was unlucky enough to walk by.

I prefer not to purchase costumes because I have more of a creative side. I enjoy creating new and unique things. Usually if you go into a costume store you will find adult versions of child costumes in the adults section. It isn't very common to find many adult only costumes. Usually if you find them they are just kinky costumes for women. To find a costume that won't be generic, you can't go to a store. It is possible to find some non-generic costumes online but they will be expensive. Sometimes Halloween stores online can be useful to get you a piece needed for a costume like a mask or wig.

For the truly memorable adult costumes, you must make one yourself. If you have something in mind, you can search through thrift stores to find the pieces you need, and go to craft stores for most of the special effects you may be looking for. If you don't like to sew and glue, go to a store that carries nothing but adult costumes, and mix and match a few different items.

It's possible to completely run out of ideas. Don't let this discourage you because you can always just use the internet. Find something on a website you love and give it your own personal touch. Check around the house and find clothes you don't use anymore and create something with it! This can be a last effort to figure something out when the time draws closer. Most of all, Just have fun!
