It Always Comes Around

In recent times, I found myself pondering on the phrase do unto others what you want others to do unto you. It is so easy to hear a message and get excited and very hard to execute it. It is about time we practice what we preach in all and not selected situations. The truth is we must be careful of how we treat others because for every action we take there is an equal or opposite reaction.

I cannot help but remember a story a friend told me years ago that remains etched in my memory and serves as a reminder any time I am faced with taking a certain action.
It was about one of her male professors in college that used to date his female students in exchange for good grades. He was a married man in his early fifties with four children of his own. He had a reputation for failing and blackmailing female students with poor grades in the subject he taught and promising them a high grade in exchange for sexual intimacy with him in a nearby motel.

A number of desperate girls fell into his callous trap while others refused to trade their morals for a few minutes of farfetched pleasure because of their awareness that such a compromise could lead to eternal damnation.
Over the years, the professor was continuously engaged in adulterous affairs with these young girls. He went to the extent of convincing any girl that got pregnant by him to abort the pregnancy.

He was always quick to dip his controlling hand into his dirty pocket and give the frightened young girl some money to go to the doctor. Any protest from any of the girls was met with ugly threats that subsequently forced the girls to the nearest abortion clinic. His evil wishes were eventually executed out of fear leaving many of the girls emotionally scarred for life.
For a while, it seemed like the professor was getting away with his hideous actions but the Bible says do not be deceived, a man shall reap what he sows.
In his early sixties, he began suffering from Schizophrenia. He was seeing what others were not seeing and talking to himself a lot.

When his condition deteriorated he was admitted to a psychiatric ward where patients and members of the hospital staff constantly heard him screaming take those babies away from me; tell them to stop tormenting me with their cries.
He never found peace; he was mentally tortured by the chilly cries and imaginary apparitions of new born babies on a daily basis till the day he drew his last breath.
We live in a world where the popular culture mocks godly values and embraces lies that contradict the word of God. It is sad but there are many people that do evil things in the dark believing these things will stay hidden while forgetting that the Bible says God cannot be mocked.
From now on, let us make it a point of duty to treat each other the way we want to be treated and to strive to live our lives in accordance with the word of God because the time is coming when we shall give an account of our lives.
