It 's Your Health - Take Charge Of It!

It 's Your Health - Take Charge Of It!

By:

We are responsible for our own health. Many people have forgotten this very simple concept until something goes wrong. The idea of turning the responsibility of your health over to your doctor is a thing of the past. No matter how good your doctor is, no one will ever care as much about your health as you do.

It takes more than just popping some vitamins every morning and you can't continue bad habits everyday and expect your health to last a lifetime. Here are some basic guidelines to consider:

1. Heart disease needs to be addressed by both sexes and do all you can to prevent this complication. Eat foods your heart loves like whole grains, vegetables, and olive oil.

2. Exercise every day and incorporate weight bearing exercise to support muscle. This will help you burn fat where toxins are stored and be released through sweat.

3. Drink plenty of clean, filtered water.

4. Take an Omega 3 essential fatty acid supplement and eat fish at least twice a week.

5. Do weight-bearing exercises 3 times a week which can fight osteoporosis.

6. Stay away from soft drinks.

7. Depression has reached epidemic levels in this country, especially with women so it is important to eat foods rich in iodine which supports the thyroid, improves mood and restores metabolic rates.

8. Say "no" to drugs and research natural remedies, alternatives, and lifestyle changes first that can work just as well. Take the initiative to educate yourself and make the changes needed - I am already preaching to the choir since you are already reading this article.

Start with the basics and you will begin to see and feel the difference in your health and energy levels. You will find out what works for you and be able to take responsibility for your health in a positive and effective way.

Help your body get rid of waste products, toxins, etc. The best ways to do this are through exercise, sweating, saunas, and herbs that help detoxify the body. You should be having as many bowel movements as you are meals.

If that is not happening, then toxins are building up throughout your body. Foods that help you get regular include vegetables, sauerkraut, macadamia nuts, ground flaxseeds, probiotic supplements, yogurt, various whole grain cereals, and drink plenty of water throughout your day.
