Is Your Car A Fire Trap

By:

Most of you that own newer cars would not think very much about it being a fire trap. Think again, because that new car can become a fire trap just as quickly as some older cars. You could go out and buy a new car only to have it be what some call a lemon. The only good thing about this new car might be that warranty that came with it which usually lasts only so long. It will seem like this car runs really good until the warranty runs out and then your problems and costs start to run wild. Have you ever went and bought a new car only to find out later that this car was put together with experimental parts?

This situation has actually happened. This woman bought a brand new car, her first new car to be exact, only to be told that this car was made up of mostly experimental parts. The only reason she found this out was after her warranty expired the car broke down. Then the company that she bought it from told her the truth. When you go to buy a car, never go alone as some of these salesmen will be able to talk you into buying almost anything on their lot. Sometimes a salesmen does not care about anything except selling you a vehicle.

If you happen to smell a heavy oil smell when in your car, you could end up with a fire under the hood or some other area of the vehicle. You can take it back to the place where you bought it and let them check it out if it is under warranty, but if they do not give you the answer and satisfaction you are looking for, you might take it to an unbiased professional mechanic to get a second opinion. Sometimes a car lot, especially a used car place, will avoid dealing with a serious issue your vehicle might have if it is going to cost them money. Not all car lots are like this of course, but there are unscrupulous businesses of all kinds.

If your car is new or nearly new and still under warranty, follow the schedule of check-ups it tells you that have to be done. Doing this will help keep your vehicle running longer. Always take it to a professional mechanic because if you try to do this yourself, not only could you do something wrong, but doing it yourself could cause problems with your warranty.

Always keep your auto insurance up to date so that if something does happen to this car the insurance will help with the costs. You should always carry a small fire extinguisher in this vehicle just to be extra safe. If you do have a fire never let anyone other than the fire department handle putting the fire out. Always remember that your insurance might not cover this person if something should happen to them.
