One of the fastest growing professions can be obtained in just two years of college by completing one of the physical therapy assistant programs available in community colleges, junior colleges, small colleges and universities.

The demand for this profession will only continue to climb. We have a large aging population on the horizon.

This profession also plays a big role in sports and sports revenue is an all-time high! The weekend athlete tends to get injured a lot. Many of the treatments for such injuries involve physical therapy.

Personal training has become a new field for this profession. People are earning secondary and sometimes primary income as a highly trained "personal trainer". As more and more individuals come before physical therapy assistants with injuries sustained while under the care of a personal trainer, many began looking at this profession as a possibility for a second income.

A look into the training required to become a personal trainer shows that there is no comparison between the physical trainer and the physical therapy assistant.

If someone has led a sedentary life for a number of years and decides to start exercising you really should consult with a physical therapy assistant not a personal trainer.

I believe that with injuries sustained by using a personal trainer and the fact that physical therapy assistants are now entering this profession it will become a new market for this profession.

There is also the field of pediatrics for this profession as well. There are many more fields available for someone who is completed one of the programs available.

The physical therapy assistant salary runs round about $45,000 a year. A really good reason to give this profession a second look.

You have to admit that for a two year degree this is an excellent salary!

Of course you must realize that the physical therapy assistant programs out there are tough. You are completely trained in a new profession from scratch in two years!

Lots and lots of hands-on training is involved. The good part of this is that it is overseen by an instructor who can correct any misapplication's or misunderstandings immediately. This is definitely the way to go in the learning something. Performing your various duties in front of an instructor.

So do yourself a favor and check out the various physical therapy assistant programs available in your

local area and visit the colleges. Then decide if you want to add this on your list of career choices that you may want to pursue.
