Is Carbon Copy Pro A Viable Home Based Business To Get Into?

By:

Carbon Copy Pro is a fast growing and increasingly popular internet business opportunity. As an online entrepreneur I have come across ads for Carbon Copy Pro and so taken some time to look into it. Carbon Copy Pro was founded by Jay Kubassek, whose rags to riches story is impressive and verifiable. Kubassek created the Carbon Copy Pro system as an all-inclusive marketing vehicle for Wealth Masters International, which offers financial education products.

As someone interested in multiple streams on income online I found Carbon Copy Pro intriguing. Clearly some people had experienced and were experiencing success with the system. My question was of course could I duplicate the same results, and also, how many within the Carbon Copy Pro system were repeating this same success? These were some of my main concerns and questions:

Implementing the Carbon Copy Pro system meant purchasing their "Business in a Box," which would be putting in place a duplicate website offered to all new CCP reps. Having a "unique selling proposition" that sets me apart from others would seem to be difficult if my website was a clone of another and was out there amongst thousands (or more) others. How would I fare against my own company reps with the same site?

The system also aims to "eliminate the human variable." This is an attractive proposition for people who hate cold calling, prospecting for new leads, or bothering their friends and family endlessly for business. That appealed to me and no doubt appeals to many. The focus is on the internet as a marketing tool. On the other hand, a quick look at many of the top internet marketing giants reveals that they all use the human variable - themselves, to great effect. Their method is called "personal branding" or "attraction marketing" and aims to leverage the very element that invites peoples trust, participation, and ultimately - business, which is presenting themselves as front and center in their system, as a real human being, available and personable. Carbon Copy Pro does this as well but in a singular way: presenting Jay Kubassek as the human element. This raised the question for me: Since I would be building up the "brand name recognition" of Kubassek with my marketing dollars and effort, would the tradeoff and profit from using a complete and fully functioning system make up for the lack of long term credibility and personal reputation that I might otherwise be creating?

The products promoted by Carbon Copy Pro (besides itself- the marketing system, which costs $395) are three different levels of financial education offered by Wealth Masters International. Their costs are $1,995, $8,995 & $12,995. These products are also offered independently by WMI itself. At first glance the high costs of these products was faily offputting. Not being someone who required estate planning, offshore tax strategies, and other high asset management, the big question for me was how could I justify their purchase? Did the products stand alone in value, separate from the business opportunity? The implied (real) reason for their purchase for any new CCP rep was very simple: to earn commissions on their sale to the next rep. The high price created a high commission, which is key to the financial attractiveness of the Carbon Copy Pro System. But the big questions that remained for me were: could I justify spending that amount of money on a product only for the chance of earning future commission? Would I be able to demonstrate to others who might truly use these products that their high cost was justified by their inherent value? And was that value indeed there in those products?

A final criteria for evaluating internet businesses came to mind as well: what degree of personal one-on-one instruction was available in the Carbon Copy Pro system? What level of marketing and advertizing training was available? For someone relatively new to technology, computers and the internet, this was of paramount importance. My greatest fear, as it may be for others, was fear of beginning something and then failing or giving up for lack of results or frustration in knowing how to truly create success. For me, the internet has always been extremely attractive as a means of earning a living, but I needed a personal guide, mentor, coach. A good system would not be enough. Would I have that guarantee with Carbon Copy Pro?

Further research and conversations with several active reps in Carbon Copy Pro only deepened my concerns, which I won't go into further here.
