Job Interview Questions

Before going into the interview, write down several questions that you need answered. Remember never to interrupt the interviewer as during the course of the conversation, a number of the questions that you have may be answered. Questions during an interview show that you are interested in the job. Great interview questions also show the manager that you're a good fit for the position.

Don't ever ask questions about salary, bonuses, or benefits. If it is brought up by the hiring manager, then it is OK to discuss. Wait until you get to the next interview or a job offer before discussing these. These questions ask what the company will do for you. The hiring manager want's to know how you will benefit the company, not them benefit you. Benefits and vacation time should be discussed further in the interview process.

Who else does what you do? How are your competitors products compared to yours?
Who has the biggest market share in your field?
How many employees have had this job in the last 3 years? Why did they leave or did they get promoted?
How would you describe the company's biggest strengths?
What is the organizations biggest weakness?
What could be done differently by the next employee in this job?
How is this department organized?
How does this position fit into the overall structure of the company?
What is the typical day like for the employee in this job?
How would you describe the culture here?
What objectives would you like to see completed by the person in this position?
What are the company's goals?
What problems do you see the person in this position encountering?
What type of support will this position receive in terms of financing, co-workers, etc.
How do you like to manage employees?
What kind of on the job training will the employee you're looking to hire receive?
Does this job have any freedom concerning deadlines and objectives?
How would you like to see this position progress over the next few months?
Please describe a successful person who have this position?
What would you say are the top three qualities you're looking for in this job?
Are there any big changes coming for the company in the near future?
Are there any concerns that you have about me?
How is the employee in this job evaluated?
After interviewing other candidates, where would you see me falling?
How do you see a successful person in this position growing in the organization?
What is the next step for a candidate moving further in this interview process.
How fast are you looking to fill the position?
When are you letting candidates know if they have made it to the next step?
