By:

The biggest chance an internet small business has is to improve the conversion rate of the internet home based business, which it is running. The conversion rate indicates, how targeted and useful the site is to the target group. And this means a lot to the internet small business results.

Here we have a seed to the better internet small business conversion rate. When we know, that the internet business marketing is a process, sometimes a long one, we have an idea, what the conversion improvement process includes.

1. Be More Precise Concerning The Copy.

The site operates between the offer and the target group. So to be able to write an effective sales copy you have to know these both. And these both must be something special, not everything to everybody.

Every site must have an unique promise to the target audience. This promise must include a great benefit to the site visitor and to respond the needs he or she has. The visual look must respond to the style, which the site visitor respects, because the feelings has a great role in the marketing.

2. Do You Honestly Know, Who Include The Target Group?

In USA alone there was almost 300 million browsers with which the sales of $ 156 billion was done in 2009. It would be easy to think, that whatever offer would collect enough revenue for one site, but that is not true. The internet audiences are demanding and the offers must be laser sharp in their focuses. It is better to know the needs, wants and styles of few people, than to try to please masses with offers, which are targeted to nobody.

3. Some Hints To The Target Group Definition.

You can try to make a research among the present users, their demographics and product usage or you can think, who your prospect will not be. You can try to figure out, who desperately need your product, i.e. who has not been able to solve the problems yet.

Make a research about the niche leader site and try to figure out, why has he been able to explode the sales and what could you do to do the same. These leading guys have often hidden something psychological things, some atmosphere, which fascinates the site visitors.

4. Paint A Picture About Your Prospect.

Now, when you have several pieces about the potential customer and the leading competitors, it is a time to start to paint an idea about the target groups, i.e. about one or more consumer segments, who they are and why would they buy your product. This process will give you ideas about the content and the visual of the offer, which would better respond the needs, wants and the styles of your target segment or segments. Note, that you may be forced to divide the prospects into groups, called segments, which have the same consumption habits.

The demographic information can tell that the target person is male, white, annual income under $ 60.000 and married. His current need is to solve a problem, his knees are hurt, he feels tired all the time and he hates this state of the affairs.

His beliefs are, that diets do not work, he is sad, that there is something wrong with him and people do not like him, because he is too fat. His desire is to be skinny with 6 pack abs and to know that the women like him.
To know the state of the affairs and beliefs means a marketer is miles ahead of the competition.

The better conversion rate is a result of the content quality of your site. That simple requires, that the site will better respond the wants and styles of the target person, because the emotions will play an important role in the buying process.
