Internet scams are sadly enough extremely popular. According to the Better Business Bureau Online, they have received nearly 580,000 inquiries related to work-at-home scams.The Better Business Bureau warns the public about these scams.

One of the most recent scams used is stating that they are endorsed by the Better Business Bureau when they are not.

This internet scam does not differ much from any other. They all claim "real profits within a short period of time. We guarantee it"

In fact, you are lucky if you get a refund. Usually you have to pay more money in the back end, follow their program instructions, and then proof that you follow them and to top it off, proof that you did not make any money. Now, you can get a refund.

Internet scams are out there to get your credit card only. There are not out there to help you or to provide you with valuable information.

1) Success does not happen overnight: I am sure that lots of money can be made overnight somewhere somehow. When I discover that, I promise, you will be the first one to know. In the meantime, you cannot make big profits easily with a home business that is just starting. You need to acquire the skills, have dedication, offer good services, and time to make a profit.

2) Be cautious about unsolicited and solicited emails: Regardless where the email is coming from, be cautious. If it is unsolicited, be very careful, they tend to be internet scams. If you know the sender, before you hit reply, ask yourself, how much credibility do I have for this person?

3) Is there a refund policy? If so, do you understand it or is it clear enough? Be careful with hidden tricks in the small print. Ask the necessary questions, read the small print, try to contact someone live. If you do not have the answers or cannot get them, that may be your answer.

4) Be aware of envelope stuffing internet scams: It is very unlike you are going to get materials to send out on behalf of a big company, most likely you will be asked to place an ads out of your own pocket. These ads will ask people to send you money for more information about working from home. They will have to do the same you are doing. In other words, there are no real products. This has to be illegal!

5) Have you checked your local library?: Do your research there before anything else. Most local libraries offer a "Work-At-Home Sourcebook" and other books or resources. These will tell you those local companies that hire people to do work at home. These companies are usually local. You can verify their information, visit them, and decide if you want to work with them or not.

BBB Online: You must contact The Better Business Bureau system and the BBOnline. They have made things easier. I will also use them before purchasing something that may seem an internet scam.

Cybercrime.gov: This is a website that you must visit. The Computer Crime and Intellectual Property Section (CCIPS) of the criminal division of the U.S. Department of Justice is a great resource.

Federal Trade Commission (FTC): Use this form to submit a complaint to the FTC of consumer protection about a particular company or organization. You can also call 1-877-FTC-HELP or 1-877-382-4357

ICAC: The Internet Crimes against Children Task Force

Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3): The IC3 is a partnership between the FBI (Federal Bureau of Investigation and the NW3C (National White Collar Crime Center. Work from home scams are more popular than the real opportunity.

1) Promise real profits within a short period
2) They want you to tried it for a period of time, or your money back guaranteed (read the small print)
3) They guarantee the results
4) There is no company information in the website

Internet scams are scary and there are too many of them. Do not buy anything before confirming your information and doing your due diligence.
