Congratulations! You've made it to the 1st step of creating your own website. The right domain name could make all the difference on weather or not you succeed in Internet Marketing. If you are totally new to the Internet then you may not realize that the web address you type into your browser is known as a domain name. A domain name is an easy way for humans to understand and navigate the Internet.We use Domain names to identify sites. When choosing your Domain name you should select a term people will use to search for your site. Most obviously, this could be your brand or personal name. Think about how you search on Google yourself.

Their are no concrete rules in place when trying to choose a domain name, but there are some basic guidelines to help in the process. Placing keywords in the domain name can help with Search Engine Optimisation, as well as help with quickly and easily presenting a site's focus to the visitor.

Most countries have their own domain extension, so if you are marketing your products and services primarily to users in a single country then consider using that country's top-level domain, otherwise known as a domain extension.
