Internet Business Success On A Budget

Secrets of a successful internet marketer

By Michael Peterson

When I started internet marketing, I had no clue where to begin. Since 2004 I've learned a lot of things about making money online. Mostly I've learned what NOT to do.

I've had days when I made nothing at all... and I've made as much as $25,530 in one day. I can tell you that the difference between the two is simply the choices I made.

In 2010 I use very different tools to accomplish day to day success online but the end results are the same. I'm interested in achieving sales and profits. That's the bottom line.

I don't care where the traffic comes from, as long as it converts to sales. I really just don't care. What matters to me is simply the ratio between my costs and my sales revenue. If you're like me, that's all you're really interested in too.

I'll share with you a few things I've learned in generating as much as $500,000 in sales in one month. It all boils down to three things.

* The Offer
* The Platform
* The Traffic

If all three are working, then I make money that day. If one is failing, the other two don't matter. Let me explain.

The Offer

If what you have to offer doesn't resonate with your market, it doesn't matter what else you do, you will go broke. You have to make sure what you're offering people is of value to them and the price is LESS than the VALUE.

Value has to be high in order for people to say... I have to buy this. We have to feel that sense of "bargain" or "deal" before we trigger our purchase mechanism especially in a tough economy when money is tight.

I don't care what kind of server you have or website you've built, if your prospective customer thinks your offer is of low value, you wont sell a thing no matter how much traffic you have.

Your offer has to resonate with your target and be considered a true bargain.

The Platform

Now some offers are fantastic but your platform has to be solid as well. Many people will walk away from an offer that sounds excellent simply because they don't like the website or landing page.

They may not like the way the site flows or the way the graphics look. People can be very fickle when it comes to making a buying decision so your platform has to be solid. Your landing page can't look like a scam.

If your server is slow and the graphics take forever to load, you will lose people. Bad hosting and poor site management can cost you a fortune in online marketing.

Landing pages are critical. If the people feel like you're a scammer, you'll lose them. We have all purchased things online and then felt taken and we hate that feeling. Once that happens, we are on the lookout for sites that give us that same feeling.

Be careful who you copy because if you're site gives people an uncomfortable feeling, they wont tell you that, they'll just leave.

Make sure your platform is solid, professional, and gives people confidence when they visit your site.

The Traffic

Let's face it. If you have the best offer in the world and a wonderful platform that's very professional and clean, but you don't have traffic, it just doesn't matter.

Traffic is not the only thing but without it, you'll not sell a thing to anyone.

On the days that I have made $10,000, $15,000, $20,000 in a day, it was because all three were working. I had a solid offer that people were resonating with and that was a good value. I had a solid platform that didn't offend them and presented professionally.

Only then did the traffic convert to sales and make me a fortune. That's critical because often times I see ebusiness owners obsessing about traffic and when you look at their offer and their platform, it's not hard to see why they are not making money.

Traffic only converts when the other two parts are done professionally. If you're having problems with your offer, get professional help. If you have a problem with your platform, get professional help.

The same is true with your traffic. If you have trouble getting traffic to your offer and landing page, you need help and that's my biggest secret. I don't mind asking for help.

A Word About Traffic At Wholesale.

When you buy Traffic from Google Adwords, Yahoo, or Bing you need to realize that you are buying RETAIL traffic. Of course it's good traffic and you can make some money with it if you know what you're doing. You better have a good offer and solid platform or you'll lose your shirt.

Don't get me wrong, you need quality traffic but I don't like to buy things at retail unless I don't have a choice. Save money.

Go to http://www.internetadcenter.com and buy the same traffic you buy from Google Adwords for less.

I like discounts and buying at wholesale whenever I can. The same is true about my traffic.

One of the best kept secrets of the marketers that are making huge amounts of money is the traffic sources they keep hidden. There are places to buy traffic at wholesale that converts at a fraction of the cost of the exact same keywords at Google Adwords.

That's the straight scoop from the street. If you're paying retail, it's hard to make your profit.

If I can get the same 1,000 visitors to my site for 40% less than the cost of Google Adwords or Yahoo or Bing, then I can make money on that a lot easier especially if it's the exact same visitors. Think about it.

That's why I use the Internet Ad Center instead of buying traffic at the "retail" doors of the big three. That's my two cents, take it or leave it.
