The research results are valuable, but cannot give direct answers to the problems. A marketer can fulfil the information by benchmarking the competitor sites, especially those leading ones in the niche. If he has the target group research results in the background, he can get the practical answers from the benchmark results, like what colours is used, how the template looks like, what product links there are and what elements are on the best locations?

3. What Does Not Work?

The product links are the easiest ones, when a marketer will judge, what does not work. If the links do not get the clicks nor sales they are on the removal list. The Google Analytics is a free tool with which a marketer can follow, how the visitors move on the site.

4. Make The Tests.

But a marketer will never get the straight answers from the researches or benchmarks. The only chance is to get the useful information from these and to make the changes and to test, what will work. The test period can be a difficult one, because a marketer just cannot know, what is the good result. Maybe the best thing is to compare to his old results.

5. Do Not Make The Strategy Changes.

If the site has worked well earlier, it is not wise to change the strategy. When the circumstances have changed, it usually means the changes in the styles, how the other marketers, or sites, do the marketing. So the question is more about the cosmetics, than about the business strategy.

The markets seldom disappear, they just change their natures. What is important is to offer new things to the target group. People in all target groups like novelties or new looks. Think about the cars. How often your favorite brand has changed the models and looks ?
