Interaction With Computer Part4

Graphical User Interface:
When we talk about a computer system we think and dream of a computer system that can be operated very easily and that can not be done by command line user interfaces or menu driven interfaces or prompted user interfaces, yes we can only do that only with a graphical user interface.
In case of a graphical user interfcae it is believed that they are made so because any human being with minimal computer operating skills or may no computer operating skills at all can not only operate computer system but can prove his or her self an expert on operating a computer system. It is like manipulatin objects that appear on the screen and by doing so we achieve our objective. In a graphical user interface any type of, any kind of,any size of and of any value objects are presented in the form of a small graphical picture like thing that is called an icon.
For example the icon of a file, the icon of a directory, the icon of a picture, among the files the icon for an xml file, the icon for a text file ,the icon for an ini file, the icon for system file, the icon for a microsoft word file and so on.And if you wish to do something with a file for example open it you have to manipulate object that is its icon so you click on it and file is opened before you. There are other examples of manipulating the graphical object that we call an icon.
And some of them are:you can delete a file by right clicking on an icon of the specified file and then choosing delete option, you can rename a file by right clicking on an icon of the specified file and then choosing rename option, you can open a file by single or double clicking it,you can print a file by right clicking on an icon of the specified file and then choosing print option or may be just right clicking on an icon of the specified file and then choosing properties option and then checking hidden check box and thus hide a specified file like that.
The Microsoft Windows is a very big example of a graphical user interface because it uses its graphical user interface to do tasks on our computer system in a very easy way. As an example look at the desktop of your Microsoft Windows operating system it contains an icon which presents itself with atrash can icon, now any files that we delete (if not too much bigger in size) go to that trash can and we can easily restore them from there if later on we change our mind and say oh man I still need that stuff or you can (as an option) permanently delete that file from your trash can all what you need to do that is that you single or double click(dependingf on you computer system's click settings) the trash can icon and open ourself a window that prvides us with all of the options.
