Instruction Of Using Actron Obd Tool

By:

Actron's auto OBD code scanner is a tool which can diagnose kinds of problems with your car. Ohio-based Actron manufactures and sells car OBD scanning equipment. The scanner displays a series of trouble codes identifying problems. Since November 2010, the scanners cost between $150 and $250, relying on whether you purchase a basic model or upgraded Pro Scanner.
You'll Need Actron auto code scanner, OBD 2 cable, USB cable, Companion compact disc and Safety goggles for this job.
Link the scanner to your car. Find out the OBD 2 connector under the steering column, remove the cover, and turn the ignition to the "ON" position, but do not launch the engine. Insert the OBD 2 connector into the car connector.
Scan the required component. The tool may automatically activate and reads codes, and monitors and displays your car's data. When it had done, press the "BACK" key to return to the main menu.
Retrieve the list of diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) and code definitions from the car's computer. To read the data, press and hold the "READ" key for two seconds, then release it or choose the "READ CODES" option from the main menu. If a DTC is reported, there is a potential malfunction in that part of the car. Pending DTCs do not always show failure of the component. They show up when a non-persistent problem has been detected.
Remove codes from the car computer by choosing the "ERASE" option or other similar button. Confirm your choice by choosing "YES," or decline by choosing "NO." If a problem persists after clearing its code from the car, the problem has not been fixed.
Freeze-frame live timing to pinpoint your car's problem. Choosing this option from the menu allows you to display a snapshot of the operating conditions at the time the diagnosis was created.
Play back the timing to look up the data and create a clear diagnosis. You can also find out about the emissions data by choosing "VIEW DATA." This gives details about switches, sensors, solenoids and relays.
Connect the device to the Internet or your PC or laptop to record the results of scans and to download new scanning suites from the manufacturer, or dealer. There are a lot of online stores over the internet; you can find that what you need online.
