Installing Lumineer Veneers: Before And After Procedure

Lumineer veneer is a porcelain panel which is fitted on the front part of the tooth. This procedure enhances the appearance of teeth. This is a painless technique which requires just two or three visits. Veneer fitting is done in the following way:

1.Firstly, the impression of the original teeth is taken on the moulds. These moulds are then sent to the laboratory where the veneers for these teeth are made according to the need.

2.The impressions of the desired teeth are also marked. Clay -like material which looks very similar to outer enamel of the tooth is placed on the teeth. This way you and the dentist may take an idea of the final appearance of the teeth. The impression of these desired teeth are then taken on the moulds.

3.Now, with the help of the measurements which are taken on the moulds, the lumineer veneers are made. Individual fitting for each tooth is made from porcelain pieces to ensure its proper fitting. Sometimes, some teeth also need reshaping so that the veneer may be fitted well.

4.Reshaping is done to ensure that all the teeth look similar in shape, size and color. Different procedures are used to give a proper and congruent look to the existing teeth. This can be done by shortening, flattening or aligning then with the other teeth. The tooth enamel is also evened out in case of need. This procedure ensures the proper fitting of the veneer.

5.The teeth are now cleaned and engraved to make them rough. This process helps in bonding the porcelain pieces on the teeth. Now the pieces are fixed on the teeth with the help of a bonding agent.

6.Finally, the laser technology is applied to trim and reshape the teeth if needed. This technology also hardens the bonding agent and makes it a permanent fitting.
