Installing Avast

My office system runs on Windows & Home premium 64 bit Operating System and they provided me a free version of McAfee to Download. For almost a year I used this antivirus from my office site. The version I was using was McAfee total protection for small business version 4.7.0.566. Normally what I knew was that McAfee updates itself automatically on a daily basis but suddenly I realized that since last three months it hadnt updated itself. My computer performance was deteriorating a little bit. So after putting a lot effort and many attempts to update and troubleshoot it was still showing errors that said something about that it couldnt connect to the server. So I decided to uninstall this McAfee and install some other antivirus which can be compatible to my machine. I tried probably all the steps that goggle guided me for uninstalling this but nothing worked. I also tried it via Add/Remove Programs Function that Windows has. This removed the McAfee application completely.

Now my next work was to install another antivirus, which unexpectedly came out to me as a mission impossible. I downloaded Avast from Google and tried installing the free version of both 4.8 Home and the 5.0 newest version of Avast. But unfortunately both failed to install. The newest version 5.0 gave me an error of not valid Win32 application and the 4.8 version failed to download when it started the setupeng.exe file and also presented me with a log of huge numbers which is like an over head transmission for me. I had like no idea why it failed and why it says Windows Vista in there when my machine is working on Windows 7. Thats super frustrating. I could never understand the logs. I surfed for hours on several forums to seek help and also looked for Avast versions compatible to my OS. The computer said no avail to all. Now as my system is now vulnerable with no antivirus so I decided to install back the McAfee to work again. I searched my original file of McAfee that I downloaded from the office. I tried and the McAfee now got half installed and it said that my company key was half installed. The icon appeared on my system try, there is a shortcut on my desktop and there is also a file in my C: drive but its still not working. I had no clue what it says. After clicked on the icon it sent me to their website. Where could I put the key? After right clicked on the system try icon it only showed me the About and Help option and no edit or scanning options. Now the McAfee icon wasnt even showing on the Add/ Remove Programs list. I also downloaded with the McAfee removal tool it didnt run either. It showed me an error not a valid Win32 application. I suspected it not compatible with my 64 bit OS. After all that I did I realized that I dont have much of IT knowledge to fiddle with rest of the workout so I left it then and there.

I was stuck then. I was also a little paranoid using my system without an antivirus. So I consulted a fellow office mate. He gave me a suggestion of taking a tech support from a company called iYogi. He was been a loyal customer of them since a year and a half. He told that these people can help me with the installation of Avast. I then contacted iYogi technicians instantly and explained them how messed up my computer was. They assured me to help me with my problem. I have to admit that I was completely impressed about the whole procedure of working iYogi has. The delivery of the service was amazing and quick. They also answered all the queries I had regarding my system and Avast. He described me all the procedures and steps he was been performing on my machine by connecting it remotely to his. They finally helped me with uninstalling all the applications of McAfee and installing Avast on my system. I was glad to take the support from iYogi. It was a good experience after the mess I was going through.
