Description: Water heating is very common in household and for commercial as well. There are many ways of heating water like electricity and gas etc, but is one more way to heat the water and that is Solar Energy. Solar energy is that power which is free, that means cost effective, environment friendly and easy to use. World is blessed with Solar power in abundance at no cost. The Solar power can be utilized for the benefits of human in many ways and one of the most important uses of solar energy is Water heating and the devise help us in that is Solar Water Heater.
Solar Water Heater is equipment, which takes heat from the Sun, absorbs it and then transfers it by pumps to a storage unit, which is than transported to the hot water for homes or commercial purposes. This system is designed for household and commercial as well. Assuming the electricity is generated by a typical power plant with an efficiency of around 30 percent. A
Solar water heater can save money, electricity and energy as we know the fuel source that is sun light, which is both free and renewable. Solar Heaters have become one of the most cost-efficient way to go green and saving energy. They can cut utility bills in half and eliminates 3.7 tones of carbon gases a year and protect against the interruptions of services from usual electricity providers.
Solar Water Heater is basically of two types, i.e.
Active Solar Heater and Passive Solar Heater. Active solar water heating systems employ a pump to circulate the water or heat transfer fluid and a controller to turn the pump on and off depending on the temperature of the tank and collectors. Active systems are usually significantly more efficient that passive systems but are more complex, more expensive, more difficult to install and rely on electricity to run the pump and controller. A passive system is also known as a compact system or monobloc has a tank for the heated water and a solar collector mounted on the same chassis. Typically these systems will function by natural convection or heat pipes to transfer the heat energy from the collector to the tank.
More than 1.5 million homes and businesses in the United States have invested in solar heating systems, and surveys indicate that over 94% of these customers consider the systems a good investment. Though the initial investment for a solar water heater or water heating system is high compared to available conventional alternatives, but the return on investment has made it to become increasingly beneficial and attractive with the increase in prices of conventional energy. The pay back period of
solar water heater is depends on the site of installation, utilization pattern and fuel replaced. A modern heater is not only stylish but also can help you to save considerable on your fuel cost.
How to Install a Solar Water Heater:
Choose the right size Solar Hot System for your home according to your needs and your geographic location.
Select the right location for your solar heater.
Install your system at the location you've chosen, following the manufacturer's instructions.
Use PVC and/or water hose to connect your city's water system to the cold inlet of your solar heater.
Run PVC and/or hose from the hot water outlet of your panel into the cold water inlet of your standard water heater.
In this way solar-heated water will enter in your heating system, allowing it to work efficiently and use less energy to heat the water.
