Inspiring Short Love Poems

By:

I have to admit my wife has been my inspiration in all of my short love poems. You have to write about what inspires you. Romantic messages, love words and anything really moving only comes when whisperings of inspiration flow through you.

I can get inspired by almost anything. Nature. My wife. My future kids. My experiences of pain. My experiences of joy. My team almost winning the Super Bowl. My recently-born nephew. Almost anything can be inspiring if you let it be.

When you write short love poems, again you have to pay attention to your inspiration. You may not know what it is. You may have so much inspiration you don’t know where to begin. If you’re writing because you want to write a romantic message to your partner, then you have to begin paying attention to what moves your heart. You have to listen to your emotions. You have to get a bit mushy and let it be OK to experience your emotions. Emotions are the fuel of inspiration.

If you have so much inspiration that you don’t know where to begin, then just begin! Anywhere! It doesn’t matter! When I first started writing, I wrote almost 100 poems in 100 days. I had so much to write about that I had been wanting to write about for years. It just flowed out of me like a gusher. So just start writing. Make it a discipline to write for half an hour or an hour a day, and you’ll be surprised what you can accomplish.

Inspiration is a funny thing, and it moves each individual in unique ways. May you find your inspiration, and may you find the courage to proclaim your inspiration to the world.
