What you see - A minutes walk from Vashi Station will take you to Inorbit Mall in Mumbai. Conceptualized by one of the worlds best architectural firms, Chapman Taylor Partners, it brings to Vashi and Navi Mumbai an unparalleled aesthetic grandeur. With two separate entrances to boast of and an underground parking facility, Inorbit Mall is a landmark architectural masterpiece in terms of the sheer spaciousness both inside and outside the mall.

What you get We visited the mall on a Friday and found a rock band playing on the lawn as part of the regular Friday performance. A crowd thronged to the guitarists head-banging riffs . We entered the mall after a brief security check. Here are the details of what you can expect at the mall.

On the ground floor you will find a KFC outlet (fast food) apart from a Hobby Ideas (art supplies) one. A little walk ahead and you drown in the fragrance of freshly baked cookies from Cookie Man. And then theres a diffused fragrance of freshly ground coffee. Two coffee shops, Costa Coffee and CCD are placed almost opposite to each other. The courtyard area where the escalators begin is specked with large flower pots and a beautiful fountain in between. They have clothing showrooms like Allen Solly and Globus apart from a sportswear outlet like Puma. One of the highlights is William Penn, where you get beautiful and antiquated quills and pens for the pen connoisseur. Potpourrie, an international cuisine restaurant is also here.

The first floor consists of other clothing stores like Mens Boulevard for suiting and Mens Trenz for mens accessories like ties, belts and bracelets etc. Theres Max, the store which boasts of affordable fashion and Hidesign, the store for leather goods along with a Montblanc outlet and a Mochi Shoes Showroom. Other stores are Tanishq (jewelry), Spaces (home linen), Shoppers Stop, Little Kangaroos and Adam's Kids, Fabindia and The Bombay Store. One store youve got to visit is Identiti, which has a very interesting collection of nameplates engraved in wood, stone and glass.

The second floor at Inorbit is the most bustling area of the mall. This is the place for entertainment and appetite. A wide range of food outlets from Subway to Falafel's (the hummus joint) is available here. The Food Court extends over a widespread seating area. A large screen projected in the middle of the seating area telecasts music or matches. There a game parlour spread over a spacious area for the tiny tots and the gamers. To the right there are electronics and stationery stores like Staples and Jumbo Electronics and the mighty Bose store for speakers. Theres a Crossword bookstore at the end and two pool tables to shoot some good ol billiards.

Our verdict - The best thing about Inorbit Mall is the spacious environment and a free flowing architectural structure which makes for non-claustrophobic strolling. Most of the stores are within close proximity to one another. It is undoubtedly, one of the best places to hang-out and shop in Vashi or for that matter, Navi Mumbai. The various seasonal discounts going on throughout the year on many of the high brands make it accessible to the budget shoppers as well as the high buyers. The mall only misses out on a multiplex. Ample parking space is available.
