There are common ways that both Alliance and Horde characters can level.
Leveling for World of Warcraft can be broken down into two major categories. These would be killing a large amount of enemies and doing as many quests as you can.
The first thing you will notice when you log into the game is that some characters have large, yellow exclamation points above their heads. These are quest givers. Quests are one of the ways to make sure your character is able to level up fairly quickly. They will also give you needed items, such as gear and weapons, to help you kill your enemies.
Being able to kill a massive amount of enemies is an excellent way to level up. Killing sprees will garner your character many points toward their experience. As this level goes up, the enemies you kill need to also go up or they will not be worth as many points. If you make sure to leave your character at home when you log off, they will slowly gather rest points, which will aid in leveling quickly. Quests will not use up rest points, they will only be used for killing sprees.
You will be directed to different areas of the world that will have the level of characters you need to kill. Quests will lead you to many places all over the World. These quests will give you more than just the experience, as in gold, silver, copper, weapons, potions and other useful items.
If you are choosing to kill as many enemies as you can to level your character, make sure the enemies are in the red level. These will give you the most experience points. The yellow colored level enemies will give average points, while green is much less. Unless they drop useful items, gray level enemies should be avoided as they will not give any experience points.
Leave your character in a home area when you are not playing to help with
leveling for World of Warcraft. You do not need to be able to implement elaborate plans to get your experience as high as possible quickly.
