The only foods that have fiber are the plant foods. Vegetables, beans, whole grains, and fruits are the main plant foods that are high in fiber.

If tomatoes are cooked, the lycopene in them is more available as an effective cancer fighter. Most people like spaghetti sauce over pasta. The trick for weight loss though is to choose a whole-grain pasta, which has fiber.

The pasta in itself is not that fattening since it has no added fat. It is always healthier to choose something like whole grain pasta or bread though.

If the vegetables are raw they will take more time to digest. Cooked vegetables have the fiber and other parts partially broken up by the heat and are easier to digest. Raw vegetables will tend to have fewer calories.

Including more vegetables in your diet will help you to consume fewer calories while getting filled up. There is a slower release of calories from the higher amount of fiber.

The added benefit of choosing to eat your vegetables first in any meal is that they will contribute to better health and cancer-fighting properties. Mother knew best when she tried to get you to eat your vegetables.

Weight loss can be difficult if you arent eating the right foods. If you run on a treadmill for an hour and then go to Mc Donalds, then you are pretty much regaining all of the calories you just burned off. Eat healthy, exercise daily, and you will lose weight and be healthy in no time.
