With the current economic climate in the UK a trend which is being referred to as 'recession dressing' enables women of all ages to spend less on their clothes and yet still look chic and stylish.

This doesn't mean you have to scrabble around at a jumble sale, although it is surprising what 'goodies' you may find at a jumble sale, especially if you are into Vintage clothes. Nor does it mean you have to spend hours 'doing' the charity shops, but like a jumble there are lots of wonderful clothes to be found in charity shops which may only need cleaning and ironing! What 'recession dressing' does mean is that you can choose clothes aren't designer from local high street or online retailers at lower prices to suit your budget.

The sales are of course a great place to snap up a bargain, however you need to be wary because most sale clothes are last seasons styles or 'seconds'. Shop wisely and you can find some great little numbers at very affordable prices.

While it's okay to dress for less, shoes are very important! Having a really good pair, or two, of fantastic shoes will not only enhance the look of your less expensive clothes, they will also enable you to feel confident and look fabulous!

Everyone has their own opinions about buying second hand shoes, however if you are spot a pair of Jimmy Choo in your size the temptation will surely be too much! Only last week someone left four pairs of Jimmy Choo shoes outside of a UK charity shop! While pair of Jimmy Choo boots are sitting on another UK charity shop shelf as nobody can fit into the three and half size!

The great thing about this seasons fashion trends is that you can wear killer heels or ballerina pumps and still be 'in fashio'.

The latest shoes are bright vibrant colours with lots of additional sparkles, bows and ribbons for evenings and classy black patent for work. If you love to show your animal streak faux snake skin shoes are also very trendy for this spring and summer!

Comfort is essential if you are going to spend hours on your feet and while the experts are telling us that very high heels are bad for your health, they are also saying that wearing flat pumps all day can also be bad for you!

The happy medium is to choose flats for casual wear, medium heels or wedge heels for work or informal day wear and save the flashy killer heels for evenings. A great excuse, should you need an excuse, to buy lots of shoes!

Women who don't have average size feet often find it difficult to find fashionable shoes to fit. However, many of the plus size clothing retailers also have great lines in trendy shoes and sandals which are available in extra wide fittings, as well as larger sizes. 'Recession dressing' is a great way look good for less which will benefit many people over the next few months.
