Seagate is the name of the company which makes hard drives and storage solutions. It emerged in the market in 1979 with the name shugart technologies . Seagate headquarter lies in Ugland House and has big operational office in scotts valley in US.

Earlier seagate produced itself as a public company with the symbol "SGAT" in the NASDAQ system and later on shifted to NYSE system carrying the symbol "SEG" in late 90s.
