Immigration had become a hot topic in America, especially with an election year coming up. It has an impact on almost every single aspect of our lives including education, health care, government budgets, the environment, and tourism to name a few. There are a number of non- profit organizations that focus around the topic of immigration including; Federation for American Immigration Reform, the Center for Immigration Studies (CIS) and NumbersUSA.

The Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR) is focused on border security and promoting immigration levels consistent with national interest. Their goals include, ending illegal immigration through existing laws, and setting legal immigration at the lowest possible levels that comply with issues like national security and the economy.

Federation for American Immigration Reforms objectives include public awareness through research studies and policy analysis. They also hope to inform leaders, government and the media through their research efforts and influence public policy.

The Center for Immigration Studies also know as the acronym CIS, hopes to provide an understanding that immigration policy should be focused on the broad national interest of immigration through research. The CIS, does not in any way feel that ill feelings towards an immigrant is justified. The CIS seeks fewer immigrants but wants to give the immigrants that do come to America a warmer welcome.

The CIS has attended many events to discuss immigration related issues. Some of the events they have attended include discussions on Arab and Jewish Diasporas in Latin America as well as discussions on the educational gains of the first and second immigrant generations.

Numbers USA is an organization that is mainly focused on keeping the population in America at a controllable and sustainable level. NumbersUSA wants people to be involved in the immigration reform process and encourages people to contact their senators and push for them to vote for bills that would help stabilize Americas population.

NumbersUSA provides a lot of information on topics like Americas jobless rate, amnesty, the environment and The Visa Lottery Program. Their solution for many problems involving immigration is a passage of bills in topics like; ending changing migration, ending the Visa lottery and birthright citizenships.

With so many organizations who are dedicated to research there are is an abundance of information about immigration reform. By reading more about these groups one can become more educated and weigh the pros and cons of certain immigration issues for themselves.
