If You Have Underactive Thyroid Symptoms What Can You Expect?

By:

Underactive thyroid symptoms may indeed show you that you have hypothyroidism. With hypothyroidism, your thyroid doesn't naturally produce enough thyroid hormone for your body. Your body relies on thyroid hormone for proper function, and if you have a shortage, you can experience some physical problems. If you suffer from this, you should identify underactive thyroid symptoms and find solutions, so that you can function normally again.

If you have underactive thyroid symptoms and they're not treated, you can have a number of complications ensue, including.

- If you're pregnant, difficulties with your pregnancy that can threaten your unborn child's health.

- Increased chances of heart attack or stroke.

- High cholesterol levels that can cause a variety of health problems.

Hypothyroidism can also impact your lifestyle negatively if you suffer from it. It may make you extremely tired on a regular basis, and you may wonder why you don't have enough energy to get up there and enjoy an active lifestyle. You may think you're depressed; in fact, this can actually become a misdiagnosis, because the doctor may diagnose you as depressed without checking to see if you have thyroid problems instead. Alternatively, you may also be treated for fatigue instead of hypothyroidism.

Of all of the underactive thyroid symptoms possible, fatigue is probably the most common. That may be why, for example, you may deal with hypothyroidism for many years without realizing there's an actual medical condition causing that fatigue.

You may also experience other symptoms of underactive thyroid, including:

- Feeling very tired, extremely fatigued, or weak, so that you have difficulty getting up and doing things you'd normally like to do.

- Dry, flaky skin when environmental conditions don't support this (dry weather).

- Brittle nails that don't grow and break easily.

- Extremely sensitive to cold weather.

- Irregular menstrual cycles.

- Constant constipation.

- Difficulty concentrating, problems with memory "fog," difficulty recalling things.

You can see why underactive thyroid symptoms may get in the way of living a good life, but if you have all of these symptoms at once, it's very likely that you have hypothyroidism and need treatment.

The hormone that your thyroid produces and secretes is an energy regulator for you, such that it has a lot to do with the muscular strength you experience and your mental focus. If you don't have enough thyroid hormone flowing through your body, you may be extremely fatigued or weak, you may be unable to live the life you want to, or to live a normal life. A healthy blend of teas can help, such as those offered by Natural Total Control. This is a combination of green and black, as well as oolong teas, completely safe and blended together.

Many people live with hypothyroidism for years without thinking to seek treatment and without having a doctor see what's wrong with them. That's because underactive thyroid symptoms can be easily mistaken for other things. For example, many people think that they're just depressed or that their symptoms are "all in their head." They don't think that the constipation they experience, or the other symptoms they have, all come from having an underactive thyroid.

If you are very weak and have low energy all the time, make sure you have a doctor check your thyroid up before you simply think that you're just depressed. Hypothyroidism relief is available, and this will help take care of the underactive thyroid symptoms you're experiencing.
