If Something Is Shipped To Me Cod, Can I Refuse It?

COD shipping is also known as collect on delivery. This means that the products that have been shipped have not been paid for by the customer at the time that they are shipped. Instead, the company expects the customer to pay for the products after they have been received. This is the opposite situation from most typical product purchases that are made. However, if you're having a product shipped to you by an Albuquerque courier, there is something that you need to be aware of. This is the law which says that if you choose to not accept a COD shipment, you always have the right to refuse it.

The reason that there is a law which allows people to refuse COD shipments is because there needs to be consumer protection at all times. If companies were allowed to create an obligation in their customers to pay for shipments which were sent to them COD, it would allow for many potential abuses by the companies that were selling their goods COD. The right of refusal ensures that customers are only going to end up paying for products that they actually want.

When something is shipped to you COD, you always have the right to tell the courier that you're not going to accept the shipment. They will then have to carry the goods back to the courier company for you. The only thing that the courier can hold your responsible for at that point is the shipping and handling. If a company sends you something COD but states that you're always responsible for shipping costs, which will include the cost of return shipping back to the company.

Do not make the mistake of refusing shipments that are sent to you COD for no reason. If you've requested a COD shipment from a company, you probably did so for a reason. If you refuse the shipment without one, that company does not have to offer you the COD shipping option in the future.

The times that you should refuse a COD shipment is if the product arrives and is damaged, or is not what you ordered. If the product shows up and turns out to be the wrong size, color, or model, then you are well within your rights to send it back. Additionally, if you feel you were misled by the advertising, you should also return the shipment, and should be sure to make it known that you were a victim of false advertising.
