Leather coats are a winter outfit which protects against cold and chilly winters. As nowadays winters going on thus leather coats are highly worn in these times. But as known to everybody that leather is a fabric that needs cleaning on regular basis for retaining its look thus leather coats also need the same. Leather coats are quite heavy thus professional cleaning is considered perfect for them. But every time giving to professional person can be quite expensive and not affordable by all. Also in winters doing it is not possible as you need them on regular basis. Here are mentioned some ideas for cleaning leather coats in winters. Follow them:

After wearing every time take leather coat outside and remove dirt by brushing it off. It helps much in keeping it clean.

Buy cleaning solution for leather coats and put a clean white cloth on it and rub over dirty areas. Rub gently to remove spots or stains. Apart from dirty areas also apply solution to the rest of the leather coat evenly.

Always hang leather coat where no other item should surround it and let it dry.

After leather coat is dried take a clean white cloth for polishing until glow appears on its surface.

Flatly lay coat with sleeves outstretched and spray protective solution over it. Apply solution evenly all over it.

After it leave it for drying at room temperature. It is the perfect temperature for leather coat. Never dry leather coats in sunlight. Also any extreme in temperature is harmful for them and makes them fade, dry and crack.

Before drying flip coat approx 9 to 10 times.

Use of leather protector is to protect leather coat against water and dirt. If mistakenly your leather coat gets wet dry it quickly with a soft white cloth and then hang it for rest of the drying. Coat will not damage due to application of protector.

As mentioned in first step dry dirt can be removed with brush but if stain is little hard for that it need to be removed by applying solution. Make a solution of half water, half vinegar solution and dip cotton cloth in it and rub over stained areas. After stains are removed and coat is dried re-clean it with solution. It will remove stains on permanent basis.

When leaving coat for drying always hang them on sturdy padded hangers as they retains their shape. Wire hangers cause leather coats to stretch and bulges at the shoulders.

Though it is little hard in winter season to wash leather coats but then also take time to clean leather coats at least twice in entire season. Also spray them after cleaning.

After wearing every time it is not possible to clean entire coat thus for quick touch-ups just clean the neck and sleeve areas, as these areas are more susceptible to dirt.

Use gentle upholstery cleaner for the cleaning of leather coat having thick or faux fur linings. Follow instructions written on label as per fabric recommendations and application. For getting rid of smoke odors from linings use fabric refresher spray.

These ideas will help you keep your leather coat clean in winters. They are very easy to apply. But practically it is advised to clean leather coat in summers when you do not need them.
