Perhaps the most important role of a mother or a father is to keep themselves and their family healthy and active. I believe this can be very tricky since you don't just have yourself to take care of but you have your family as well. Add to it the stress brought to you by work. What you need basically are simple steps that can serve as your guideline in keeping the whole family healthy.

For some families dinnertime is the only time where all the members of the household can gather and communicate. That is not a bad thing but if you want to keep the transparency in your family, make not only dinnertime but every mealtime as a family time. According to study, families who eat meals together have lower risk for childhood obesity and teenage rebellion problems.

It is not a good idea to allow yourself and your family to just sit and lie around the whole day during weekends or during your free time. This can be a major cause for obesity so get the guys moving as much as possible. Right after meals, if you have extra time, take the whole family for a walk outside. Get involved in much physical activity as possible for a healthier heart and mind.

After being subject to a lot of stress caused by your daily activities, your body needs to rest and recharge. Get your strength back by getting as much sleep as you need during the night. Get the whole family to sleep as early as 10 in the evening. During the afternoon, give yourself a power nap just to make up for lost energy.

Most importantly, give time for yourself to take a break and just relax. There are many ways for your body to get the relaxation it needs like listening to your favorite music, getting a massage from your partner or simply enjoy cuddling time with your kids. Don't let stress rob you of the joy that is supposed to be yours.

Live as wise and not as unwise and know what your priorities should be. Family and friends come first before work and career. The people that surround you are the ones who will help you face every kind of challenge that may come your way. Once you establish yourself in this truth, no amount of trouble can shake you and bring you down.
