Ideal Bed Selections For Kids

By:

Once kids grow, their modern baby cribs will not be able to hold them any longer, which means parents need to consider transitioning their kids into new beds that are complementary to their age and changing sleeping requirements. Parents must choose beds that are safe to use and capable of providing a sense of comfort to kids. Additionally, their bed selections must be space efficient and with functional features like drawers where kids can store their clothes, toys, and school materials. Nowadays, it is easier to pick beds for children as they come in a wide variety of style, sizes, and finishes, and written below are some of the most functional beds that kids can truly enjoy.

As their name suggest, convertible crib beds are beds that come with the option to change into toddler beds or daybeds. They can be constructed either from wood or metal, and may come as simple rectangular beds to elaborately accented units. Usually, these beds need conversion kits in order to be transformed, and these kits are often sold separately from the cribs themselves. The kit is what allows the drop side of the bed to be removed and then this will be replaced with small guardrails to make the crib more appropriate for the size of a growing tot.

The use of convertible crib is said to be a good way for children to easily adapt to their changing sleeping cycle since that are already familiar with the beds they occupy. Parents need not to redecorate or rearrange the room of their kids as the beds are already in place and will only need certain adjustments. Moreover, these are way inexpensive than the others because they can be utilized for more years.

Bunk beds are beds for kids that feature two single bed frames stacked on top of each other, making two or more tiers of sleeping areas. These beds are ideal for small bedrooms because their form allows them to be set against the wall, which in turn provides more floor space at the center of the room. In this bed layout, ladder or rungs are secured on one side of the bed frames, allowing one sleeper to easily climb up at the top bunk, while the bottom bed is generally created to sit close to the floor.

Trundle beds for kids are also space efficient beds that can hold two people at one time. A trundle bed is constructed in such a way that a slightly smaller sliding platform is positioned beneath a larger platform. Mattresses are then placed on each of the said platforms, with the smaller mattress positioned onto the sliding platform under the bed's main frame. This type of bed is very popular for two kids that share in the same room as the retractable bed can be easily organized during the day to allow maximum play area and then two bed spaces at night.

Captain's beds for kids are also good bed options for children as these beds sit low to the ground and are fitted with drawers. These are ideally used in tight spaced children's rooms and can be integrated in differing interior design schemes as they are generally stylish. The designs of the shelves and drawers of these beds may greatly vary in finishes, with some units equipped with basic drawers and other models with roll-out shelving system.
