To really appreciate Berlin you need to come into contact with is residents. One of the better ways to go around Berlin is by cycle which can be easily rented and are available at a range of prices from many private offices.

In the Deutsche Bahn, public bicycles are available which are unlocked by dialing the number on the bicycle. This is defiantly the way to look like a Berliner since many residents also use bicycles to get around. You can ride a bike in Berlin without having to worry about traffic. For those who desire a history of every place visited, guided bike tours are available. Now, if that is not heaven for the eco-conscious tourist, then Berlin is not proud of itself.

Part of Berlin's landscape much as yellow cabs are to New York City and the red bus to London you can Berlin by yellow double-decker bus. The Alexanderplatz, Potsdamer Platz and Unter den Linden are all place where you can see many of Berlin's historic landmarks.

Walking is the best way to take in all the sights of Berlin. Berlin is very big and interesting city. You can find a lot of places for sight seeing as well as to eat. Hence, you might have to wear your sturdiest shoes. This is not the most hotly-contested city in modern European history for nothing, after all!

The fact that it's one of the most tolerant cities in Europe and the world is probably the best feature of the city that makes it a joy to tour anyway you like. Due to a tolerance you'll find pride among a diverse group of individuals.

With the right accommodation of course you will want to make your stay in Berlin more than tolerable. You should book your holiday apartment a few weeks before you go on a tour of Berlin to avoid the rush. It won't be long and you will feel very grateful when you think of having all the privileges that your grandmother would be so thrilled to have.
