Birthdays are the most special occasion in any person"s life. The day when he is born, inhales his first breathe and is taken in arms of a loved one for the first time combines all the rare emotions and makes this day so extraordinary. Each year on our birthday we grow older pass a milestone having all kinds of pleasant and unwanted changes in life. This happened with me last year on my 23rd birthday, this joyous day became a memory of grief and such an empty space was created which never can be filled again. On my birthday I received the news of death of the pop legend Michael Jackson.
At midnight I received numerous calls and messages, friends and family alike wishing me my birthday. As I m a huge Michael Jackson fan even at that time when I was receiving all the calls I still remember the song "Heal the World" from his album Dangerous was being played on my CD player in the background. I never even dreamed in my life that my favorite singer, the person who touched the heart of millions, the king of pop and the legendary style creator will breathe his last on my special day. I knew he was taken to hospital because of his ill condition and I prayed for his health but never thought he would die.
The dreadful news of his death was broken to me in morning when I watched television. Tears were streaming down my eyes and I could not believe such disaster had struck on my very own birthday. I had never cried on my birthday. Never my birthday had been so terrible ever before. I immediately cancelled my birthday party later in the evening because there was no use of celebration when my heart was grieving.
This year when the truth has sunk in a bit of me that he has died I have planned my birthday party on his theme. I have requested all my friends to dress according to his style and the party will have everything paying a tribute to him. I have always loved the way he carried himself. The way he wore his shiny leather jackets have been my favorite. Since my childhood I cherished a dream of having his autographed leather jacket and look as the coolest kid of the block. But unfortunately this dream just remains one.
I am lucky enough to find my desired jacket on
celebs wear for my birthday party. When I was first placing the order I worried about the stitching, size and material of the jacket and whether I would be able to pull it off or not but I m extremely satisfied with it. I feel the same now when I did as a kid to show off my friends the jacket but the only difference is I have got the jacket now that I wanted so badly. Putting the party and fun aside I still cannot believe Michael Jackson died on my birthday. I hope my party gives him the tribute that he deserves.
